SharpWorx didn’t start as a product.
It started as a problem that never left me.

Before the prototypes.
Before the clamps.
Before the pivots and dialed-in angles.

It started in my dad’s barn.

There was an Arkansas stone in a Craftsman tool chest. I had the freedom to use my dad’s tools, but I couldn’t get a knife sharp. And that frustrated me deeply. I didn’t yet understand the sound of steel on stone. I didn’t understand that a sharp knife wasn’t just a tool—it was faster, safer, and more satisfying to use.

Those moments stayed with me.

Years later, as a home cook and gear nerd, I noticed something most people never say out loud:

Everyone wants sharp knives.
Almost nobody feels confident sharpening them.

Sharpening had become:

Freehand sharpening—the skill my dad tried to teach me—was becoming a lost art. And the market was filling the gap with gimmicks that promised speed but delivered shallow results.

That was the real problem.
