SharpWorx started long before the first prototype, long before the clamps and pivots and dialed-in angles. It started in my dad’s barn.

When I was a kid, we kept an Arkansas stone in a Craftsman tool chest in barn. I had a lot of freedom to use my dad's tools, but could not get the knives sharp. I was always frustrated by this. I did not know how to listen to the sound of steel on stone, and how a sharp knife wasn’t just a tool—it made work easier, safer, and more enjoyable. Those moments stuck with me.

Years later, as a home cook and gear nerd, I realized something:
Most people wanted sharp knives, but almost nobody had the time, confidence, or skill to sharpen them properly. Freehand sharpening—what my dad taught me—was becoming a lost art.

So I built a solution.
